ecureuil-hamed7ir-apps

An Ecureuil source listing applications for Windows RT and ARM32 Windows, built and tested on Surface RT and Surface 2 hardware. Several of them also run on x86 and x64 Windows.

This repository is not a download host. It publishes JSON over GitHub Pages; Ecureuil reads that JSON and downloads each application from its own GitHub release.

What is in it

Seven applications, eight entries — DroidFinestra ships separate ARM32 and x64 builds.

Application Version Category Architecture Runs on
Finestra — RDP / SSH / SFTP / FTP / FTPS client 1.0.3 Utilities neutral RT 8.0, RT 8.1, Windows 10 ARM32; x86/x64 Windows 7–11
TelegArm — Telegram client 1.9.0 Utilities neutral RT 8.0, RT 8.1, Windows 10 ARM32; x86/x64 Windows 7–11; ARM64 Windows 10–11
CS-Ray — proxy client with a userspace TUN netstack 1.1.0 Utilities neutral RT 8.0, RT 8.1, Windows 10 ARM32; x86/x64 Windows 7–11
DroidFinestra — GUI for scrcpy (Android phone mirroring) 1.0.0 Utilities arm32 RT 8.0, RT 8.1, Windows 10 ARM32
DroidFinestra (x64) — the same app, x64 build 1.0.0 Utilities x86-64 64-bit Windows 10–11
Xtreme Download Manager — download manager (fork of subhra74/xdm) 8.0.29-rt1 Utilities arm32 RT 8.0, RT 8.1, Windows 10 ARM32
Lite XL — text editor (unofficial ARM32 build of lite-xl) 2.1.8-arm32 Development arm32 RT 8.0, RT 8.1, Windows 10 ARM32
Varan — web browser (fork of Pale Moon) 1.1 Utilities arm32 RT 8.0, RT 8.1, Windows 10 ARM32

neutral marks an application whose single download runs on every architecture — Finestra, TelegArm and CS-Ray are AnyCPU .NET builds. Ecureuil treats neutral as compatible on any device, so each stays one entry instead of being listed once per architecture. DroidFinestra is different: its ARM32 and x64 packages carry different native scrcpy and adb builds, so it is two entries.

Where a project also publishes a portable package, it is on that project’s release page rather than in this catalog.

How to add this source in Ecureuil

It is listed under Discover Sources. To add it by hand, open the Sources tab and paste:

https://hamed7ir.github.io/ecureuil-hamed7ir-apps/sources.json

Ecureuil caches a source for 24 hours. After a catalog update, press Refresh in the source’s details to see it straight away.

Before you install

Several of these applications need a one-time setup that is not bundled and cannot be:

Each entry carries its own step-by-step instructions; read them in the client before installing.

Layout

sources.json the source record Ecureuil reads first
hamed7ir/*.json one file per installable package
source-name-index.json generated by .github/workflows/build-catalogs.yml, committed by the bot

Do not edit source-name-index.json by hand — the workflow rebuilds it from hamed7ir/*.json on every push to that folder.

Reporting a broken entry

Open an issue here if the catalog is wrong: a bad size, a dead download, a wrong install path, a missing prerequisite, a wrong supported-OS list.

Open an issue on the application’s own repository (linked in the table above) if the application itself misbehaves. For XDM, Lite XL and Varan, please do not report ARM32 problems to their upstream projects — they do not build for this target.

Credits

Ecureuil and its source format are by fratta (@fraaaaa4). This repository follows the layout and the build-catalogs.yml pipeline from his Ecureuil-fratta-apps source.

XDM is by Subhra Das Gupta; Lite XL is by the Lite XL Team and derives from rxi’s lite; Varan is a fork of Pale Moon by Moonchild Productions, and is neither endorsed by nor affiliated with them. DroidFinestra launches scrcpy by Genymobile without modifying it. The ports in this catalog are packaged by hamed7ir; the upstream authors are credited in each entry.
